Herbert Progress and a Wine Glass

Gettin goin on Herbie...

And this weekend, inspired by Shelley Noble's recent experiments, I tried casting with hot glue. I sculpted a tiny clay wine glass (sans base), then molded with plaster....I love the look, and better still, after pulling out of the mold, you can hit it with a lighter to smooth out seams or lumps....

Hitting with a lighter to smooth it? That's brilliant!

Sculpts are looking great.

herbie's lookin pretty buff there, nice pecs! and your windows are cool, it's so informative and inspiring to hear how you make everything. really nice wine glass too, i can't wait to have a set someday where we'll need some hand blown glass wear, i've been wanting to try shelley's hot glue molding technique ever since i read about it. (we may have to write it into a story!).
good work! shel
