Screw the Arts Market of New Orleans...
....Sorry....I'm a little upset right now....I just received an email stating that my Arts Market application, which I sent in over a month ago for the Market next weekend, has been rejected...Ive put in a ton of work over the last few weeks to prepare for this thing, because I assumed when I applied that it was a first-come-first-served sort of thing, "send us your money to reserve a space at the next market", but then I got an email talking about a peer review last Friday, so I guess I should have known better....like everything else in the art community here, Hell, like everything else in this city period, its all about who you know and who's ass you kiss, even for a glorified flea market....I'm so tired of rejection...I'm about 2 seconds from giving up on it all and resigning myself to my dark little corner of the kitchen, just me and my puppets...

Same here in oh-so-artsy-fartsy Vienna... whether in arts or in getting a job. I saw quite a few times, that people that were ten times more qualified that the hired person didn't get the job, because they 'didn't know' anybody in the firm. Hell, it's like back in the times of monarchy... slow learners on all fronts...
So I let them have their sect and brood in their swamp, while I walk my ways...
Heads up, man, you rock ! Seriously !!!
Their loss would definitely be the stopmo world's gain!!!
