Got my shipment of Ultracal yesterday, finished the Mersculpt tonight, will mold her and complete the Seaclops mold this weekend, then on to the fun part (foam! lets hope I havent lost the magic touch :)
Sorry if I missed it mentioned earlier - what type of clay did you use for the sculpt? (looks good, I use something really similar looking (super sculpey & black primo look) love how the darker tone shows the detailing.
I use (and reuse) Van Aken modeling clay. Its oil-based and very soft, but I will occasionally put the sculpt in the fridge to harden it up a bit, especially if I dont want to mess up an area I'm happy with...
very nice idea with the Golden Eyes : the lack of an iris can be very spooky and disturbing - or creating a very misterious atmoshpere around the character... and thanks for the hint with the clay !
One last thingee - you loosing your magic touch ? Guess you meant getting out of the flow for a moment, maybe, but else.... this all looks very very promising ! Very cool !
Thanks Michael...I havent decided if Im keeping the golden eyes or not, she's started to take on a sort of Indian/Hindu vibe in my head and now I'm picturing dark almond-shaped eyes....we'll see :)
